Do you have it? Have you been diagnosed with it?

I have been diagnosed with ADD, took meds for a while but hated them...
I feel like it (ADD) only makes my LS worse.

It is possible. I was diagnosed "hyperactive" as a kid, which back then was the forerunner of ADHD which I most certainly would have been diagnosed with if it had been around then. I was prescribed ridilin through my formative years which only made everything worse... probably did contribute to my LS. Thankfully my parents took me off of it before it did too much damage though.

I think I am more likely Aspie, which also did not exist as a diagnosis when I was a kid but Aspergers does incorporate a lot of ADHD symptoms as well as others that apply to me and is probably a better fit. But as I am undiagnosed the only thing I can say for sure is that I am definitely NOT neurotypical.

I was actually diagnosed with ADD when I was a kid, but that was no big deal....every 90's kid was. Aspergers diagnoses weren't given back then. It wasn't that I was hyper or anything, but I had a lot of trouble paying attention in class.

i mentioned before, i was diagnosed when i was about 6 or so with ADD i think. then it turned out they were completely wrong when they realised alot of the time i was the only one in class actually paying attention
although i'll admit when i was 6 i barely did any work because i was lazy. it wasnt that i was incapable of sustaining attention though, i could play with blocks for ages. i remember i used to intuitively "reinforce" structures of blocks by increasing the joins between them as much as possible. maybe i should have been an engineer :D

This. And 5 years of unnecessary Adderall as a child has made me extremely skeptical (possibly to the point of paranoia) of the psychiatric industry.

I was misdiagnosed with ADD. Now I have been rediagnosed with Aspergers syndrome. A more likely story. I have a lot of the Aspie symptoms.

I have trouble enough making friends, let alone a girlfriend (totally uncharted territory for me, at the age of 28 and a half)

i've often heard some cases of ADD resembling high functioning aspergers.. sounds like some things i deal with from time to time.

I mostly forgot about it until i watched a documentary on it just recently. I'm starting to wonder if finding a medication that works for me would help me get my life in order. According to the docu, feeling like a zombie because of your meds means your on the wrong meds. I've just sort of lived with it for years, double backing constantly because I forget something, having difficulty making decisions, zoning out during conversation, forgetting appointments, hyper focusing, and obviously trouble focusing on the task at hand.

What sort of meds are we talking about? I wasn't even aware that anything could be prescribed for Asperger's Syndrome.

The "zombie" effect can be a little different for everyone. I take a pretty generous dose of several drugs, but Celexa is the cause of most of my side effects. I have a lot of emotional flattening from my drugs, which just leaves me not giving a shit about anything. I also have issues with concentration, forgetfulness, and fidgeting, but I had all that stuff long before I was ever prescribed anything.

I was also one of the kids that was labeled as "ADHD" back when it was really in vogue. I have no idea if I'm actually ADHD, but I don't care anyway. If I've got it, it doesn't seem to bother me much. :)

:confused2: idk im talking about add meds.
i haven't taken any since i was like 12 but i remember aderal... there was something else i cant remember though. never took ridelin, ridilin, rid... the infamous one. didn't like either though. I've never really known anything else so idk if life would be easier on meds. i just dont like the thought of taking a stupid pill everyday.
