I am human and I need to be loved, just like everybody else does. :(

That song is so depressing to me.

Shyness is often perceived as weakness, an undesirable trait. Women often claim that they find shyness in men cute, but they almost never date shy males. No woman wants to have shy and socially passive man as a sexual partner. He is not exciting and unpredictable enough.

And the question remains: how many shy women are still virgins after 30 or 40?

"There has been no genetic change since we were hunter-gatherers, but deep in the mind of modern man is a simple hunter-gatherer rule: strive to acquire power and use it to lure women who will bear heirs; strive to acquire wealth and use it to buy affairs with other men’s wives who will bear bastards . . . Wealth and power are means to women; women are means to genetic eternity.

Likewise, deep in the mind of modern woman is the same hunter-gatherer calculator, too recently evolved to have changed much: strive to acquire a provider husband who will invest food and care in your children; strive to find a lover who can give those children first-class genes. Only if she is very lucky will they both be the same man . . . Men are to be exploited as providers of parental care, wealth and genes." - Matt Ridley "The Red Queen"

"Humor won’t save you; it doesn’t really do anything at all. You can look at life ironically for years, maybe decades; there are people who seem to go through most of their lives seeing the funny side, but in the end, life always breaks your heart. Doesn’t matter how brave you are, how reserved, or how much you’ve developed a sense of humor, you still end up with your heart broken. That’s when you stop laughing. In the end there’s just the cold, the silence and the loneliness. In the end, there’s only death." - Houellebecq

Just about any Smiths song is basically the textbook on loveshyness/incel. Especially that one.

There's a club if you'd like to go
You might meet someone who really loves you.
So you go, and you stand on your own
And you leave on your own
And you go home and you cry, and you want to die.

:check: Claims, claims, claims. What they claim and what they desire truly are different as different can be. They claim being shy makes the man "more mysterious" and interesting. Crap. What they want in the end is a good fuck and a socially hampered guy is not going anywhere near that point fast. A lack of social life inherently indicates a surplus of another aspect of life: usually the thought (as opposed to speech). Why not indulge in this vast world?? Naahhh.

Those lyrics really hit home for me, every time I hear that song. It's on my Ipod but I can rarely bring myself to listen to it.

How about these lyrics?

'Two lovers entwined, pass me by
And heaven knows I'm miserable now'

'If a double decker bus crashes into us
To die by your side would be such a heavenly way to die'

I believe Morrissey sang from experience and I know that he was celibate for several years. Whether it was involuntary or voluntary I'm not sure, but it did torment him a great deal. Same goes for Nick Drake.
