thus it is a vicious circle
success breeds success, and if you have no experience of it, it becomes impossible
you can't just fake it, by the time you are 30 you are so 'conditioned' that all the will in the world isn't enough

It is a vicious circle. And it just gets worse and worse as you get older. You get more set in your ways, more bitter. More and more the 'we're such good friends, you're a lovely sweet guy' type.

I have to say it gives me more hope than dispair

I haven't totally lost all hope yet, but I am close. The last rejection I got (from a female friend I've known for two years) really screwed me up. It was not a mean rejection, more a 'you're a lovely guy' etc, type one. If even women you connect with as a close mate won't give you a shot; what the hell else can we do?

In my observations of the fairer sex, most women key off of each other. If one of them doesn't like someone
or something, they all tend to go with it, right or wrong.

Thats one of the things I really like about being a man. We dont have a brotherhood that you answer to like
the "sisterhoods" they do, to tell us what we should want or dont want or like. The film, "Mean Girls", is a perfect example of how women operate in real life, not just on a film.

Most, not all, women are like a herd of sheep, and men tend to be more like lone wolves, IMO.

For whatever reasons, most women expect a man to have had sex by XX age, or else they think
something is wrong with you. In fact, that is true in our cases, but that doesn't mean that we are
unworthy of female attentions, we just cant get it like "normal" men can do so easily, that's all.

Thats why its a good idea not to tell them the truth about virginity. It will only harm you and then
the whole sisterhood will make sure everyone knows about it, as well.

Frankly, when they are young, I think many women lie about their own virginity, so I have never felt guilty
for not telling the truth to them about my own past, which was filled with years of shyness and shame for
something I had absolute no control over at the time. I still have major issues, even after I lost my V-card.

Sometimes the very fact that you are so friendly is the problem

An easy letdown: Thats all we can expect from women who dont want to date us, I suppose.

I try not to let it get to me and it has gotten easier to do over the years. Even so, I know now that I will never
be with a woman that I *really* want to love, and be loved by, to take as a wife or a girlfriend until I pass on.

I've just sort of accepted the fact that I'll be stuck in this stage for a while, if not indefinitely. I've only ever been with one girl, and that was the proverbial, "Holy crap I got lucky" sex. I think it was more out of pity on her part than anything though. I didn't lost my virginity until I was 17, almost 18 in fact, and I'm 19 now and haven't had a romantic partner since. Maybe my problem is that I've just accepted that I won't ever get that lucky again and have stopped trying. If that's the case, then I could change, but I know it's not and I'm just "that guy" in the corner of the room, watching everyone else have a good time while I sit on the side lines and pretend to be having one.

People don't ask me whether I am virgin. They pretty often ask me whether I have a girl-friend. When I say now, they are amazed: "Good-looking and you never had a girl-friend?"

Got asked if I'd ever had a girlfriend today, i just laughed and said 'next!'

I got asked that very question recently. I just said 'no' and carried on with the conversation. At least people apparently don't perceive me to be a permavirgin.
