Did anyone ever read these?

I really have fond memories of them, and I think I got nearly all of them at some point. I'm struggling to remember when I did read them all, but it was probably early teens I think. Or was it earlier, gah. I remember the covers so well, it's like there's a connection there. They're all so distinctive. Hmm, I'm actually remembering a bit better now, I think it was primary school, so 8/9/10 give or take.

I am truly surprised no one has attempted to do a computer game based on the story in Creature of Havoc (24th).

Quote:
The player begins this adventure with no idea who they are or where they are. The player is an unidentified beast and begins the adventure with no concept of language or reason. The player must discover what has happened to them and along the way a greater plot unfolds.

I liked the ones that incorporated abilities or skills that you could use here and there if the book permitted it. I suppose they were a bit more involving, but they were all cool. I think Robot Commando was one such one maybe, and Freeway Fighter. Appointment With F.E.A.R (17th) I remember very well because it was a super-hero one. I almost want to go and re-read them now. ;p

This was also another set I read: http://rpggeek.com/rpg/462/way-of-the-tiger-gamebooks

Wow more is coming back to me, I remember having some of these too. ;) http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m3nbf3jzaC1r1g40zo1_500.jpg

I did the choose-your-own adventure thing, but nothing like those.

Oh right, well it's essentially that same principle anyway. :)

Fwuhhhhfffghhhh! Thanks WT, I've been wondering what Robot Commando was called. Can't believe it was so...generically obvious. I read that one as a kid, and all I could remember was a T-Rex fighting a Robot. I wonder if I could find a torrent of these...
