Tips on comitting suicide in the recovery forum. Some things can't be made up because its logically so absurd.

I would file it under "Learning to live with it". But that would be ironic too.

My suggestion: make (or purchase) a gorgeous cheesecake, then consume the entirety all by yourself. Guaranteed to make life improve, i.e. you cannot possibly wish to exit if there is cheesecake!!!

But yeah I understand that suicide isn't the best, after all the final solution to what is a temporary problem.

Some of us are over 40. What would make us believe that the problem is temporary when our lives are already 3/4 over?

Well, I'm taking st johns wort now. Hopefully, this will help me cope with depression. I intend to get back into hiking again, so I should have something to distract me.

But in the final analyis, a person can only take so much pain. Suicide has to be an option.

And before the women of the forum start, then I have a very simple suggestion, if you really wish to help;

HAVE SEX WITH ME!

Delete this entire thread!! Why is anyone responding to this? We should not even think of this as an option.

This option will eventually come up, it's always in the back of our minds - when we first realized that suicide was, it became an option. . . to think, we are all suicide survivors in a way?

Why delete it? at least here we can vent and talk about it and most likely convince people out of doing it. . . also for those who would never consider suicide, it shows how much your life is worth living and how good you have it.

I'm not a fan of this thread because anything that could potentialy promote or give ideas on suicide canbring great harm (lead to an actual suicide), it just doesn't sit well with me thats all.

Being a virgin at 45 doesn't 'sit well' with me.

But guess wot?

IT'S STARING ME RIGHT THE FUCK IN THE FACE 24-7.

So as a FINAL option to end my misery, suicide has to be considered.

I don't necessarily know when the 'gave-over' age is, but surely the odds of solution decrease until the odds against the love-shy are astronomical. . . and it seems suicide is the only cessation of the suffering and struggle which we call life.

I don't agree with this overall trend argument. Getting old does not necessarily makes things worse. I would have said it usually makes things seem better, because you get used to living a certain way and learn to cope with it.

I think the people most at risk for suicide are people for whom things suddenly change for the worse. So a person living in poverty his whole life is less likely to kill himself compared to a moderately well-to-do person who suddenly loses everything.

The most telling case I know of was a woman who appeared to have everything in life, but committed suicide when her husband became ill with MS and declined in health very rapidly. She was extremely beautiful, had 3 children, an excellent house, and some money from her husband's disability benefits, but she just couldn't cope with the reversal of fortunes. She believed she had no future, which was not true, since she could have gotten a job or very likely remarried to some wealthy guy, but she went into this frantic mental state where she wasn't thinking straight. I tried to talk to her about it, my father tried to help her, but she just didn't listen to anybody. When my father suggested that she could get a job or could probably remarry, she got offended for some reason. The only reason I can think of for all of this was that she had this image of perfection, everything had to be perfect. Sometimes I would visit their house to play chess with the guy or listen to music, and she would serve us homemade cookies; there were always 2 cookies for each person, every cookie was perfect, and perfectly arranged on a plate. At the time I didn't think of this behavior as being some sort of mental problem, but I suppose it was.
