I was in 8th grade, sent to school early, heard it was some kind of bomb. Came home, parents were watching TV and I went to play some video games. I was 13 and was just too young to comprehend the seriousness of the situation.

You say you were too young to understand at 13? I was 12 when it happened, and I'm not an American, yet I understood the severity of it...

...and then we had our own version just under four years later

I was at home, further uptown in Manhattan studying for a test I was supposed to have that day (I was in college at the time). Turned on the news just after the 1st plane hit and I knew immediately that was no accident like they thought it might be on TV. I remember seeing a small object moving in the corner of the screen where they were showing a live feed of the towers, and realized before it hit that a 2nd hit was coming.

My dad was down there about to go into one of the court buildings, and as soon as the first plan hit he somehow managed to grab a cab and get uptown to his office.

I had computer lessons in a community centre. I went regularly there because I hadn't my own PC at the time.

getting ready for school 6th grade... saw the second impact went to school and watched the rest happen there. I remember all the ridiculous theories, they have a helicopter too, there's another plane, there's a bomb, etc... Many kids got pulled out of school which I thought was ridiculous. (live nowhere near the east coast)

Then I remember everyone getting all patriotic about everything, writing "We're gonna invade and kick your ass" songs... Pretty much everything after that was me hating what the government was doing, what the president was saying, what other people were suggesting.

If I were Obama right now I'd have a "Mission Accomplished" speech on the same aircraft carrier just as a big ole middle finger to bush.

At school, in the morning break, so I was able to watch live the fall of the second tower because a lot of people gathered around the teacher's room, it had very big windows so you were able to see their tv. I was on 8th grade.

I was riding in the bus to my university. Everyone was silent. When I came back home from lectures I sat behind TV and couldn't believe my eyes.

Wealth and power are means to women; women are means to genetic eternity.

I was at school (high school).
I didn't know before I went back home, then my father told me "C'est la guerre aux Etats-Unis !!" ("There's war in the US!!").

Then I saw it on TV and was like "WTF just happened?".

I was in the Jack in the Box drive-through. Ordering some chicken strips. On my way to work. Oddly, I don't remember if I put in a full day or if they sent us home.

I'm kind of surprised to see that I was the only one working.

I was sleeping but woke up that morning to find the towers smoking on tele. My brother woke me up I think.

Everyone was watching. It was all the talk that night when I was delivering pizzas. I was a pizza delivery driver then and remember I had a shift that night.

At school. My teacher got a call from someone and told us that the twin towers got attacked. We were panicked for a bit because we thought that it was our twin towers.

I was 13 and it's my grandpa who told me when he picked me up from school. He was so gloomy and dark and was like "it's bad, so very bad", I was panicked. I still remember the exact moment.

9/11 victims and rescue workers can fuck themselves. It's amazing how the whole world is remembering that while nobody talks about hundreds of thousands who died because of sanctions imposed on Iraq years before 9/11 or all the lives lost in these two current wars.

Couple of thousands yuppies and fat firemen with mustache died, big deal.

I am glad that America has turned into a huge shit hole since and am sorry that Rick Santorum won't get to be the President to the army into Syria and Iran, wrecking the economy completely.

ot- I was at home after school
