If you ban guns, people will kill each other with knives. Ban those, and they break out the baseball bats. Case in point, the London riots last year? You can't ban human violent behavior. The only thing you can do is curb it by ending poverty and deprivation and by promoting civility and cooperation instead of competition and dog-eat-dog self-centeredness.

Digital or quartz watches are okay for day to day use. But.....

To paraphrase the Doctor, how long can one spend looking at a digital watch?
