Damn straight. The only thing I'm worried about are second-stringers like Black Widow and Hawkeye taking up too much screen time...I want the Major League (by that, I mean Iron Man, Thor, Capt.America, and Hulk)!

I think The Avengers and Dark Knight Rises movies are the only things keeping me going right now. Come August, I will have to find a new reason for living...

It better kick ass. This movie has had the biggest build up in cinema history, bar none! If it doesn't deliver, heads will be rolling at Disney.

I have complete faith in Mr. Whedon to deliver. He has never failed me yet. In fact it is directly because of him that I want to watch the film. I would have little to no interest if he wasn't involved.

'Cause Joss loves us

Just watched Captain America today, making my mission to watch all pre avengers films complete. Gotta say, I was impressed with it. The only one of the films I wasn't too fond of was the Hulk. Still, Gonna see the Avengers when I get paid.

They dropped a major bollock with the Hulk. WTF was the need for all of the Freudian BS for eh? And WHY didn't they drop the gamma bomb on his nut to give him his anger management issues in the first place.

This is where studios go wrong with comic book movies. They try to re invent the wheel. The Hulk is simple. Big, green, and pissed off. How hard is that?

'Avengers Assemble' in my humble opinion is the greatest superhero film in cinema history. The script is razor sharp and as I said earlier, they FINALLY got ol' jade jaws RIGHT. At long fucking last. He doesn't look like Thrud the Barbarian (And those of of you of a certain age will know EXACTLY who I refer to!), as he did in Hulk , nor does he look like some ripped surfer like he did in The Incredible Hulk. He is big, ugly and MEAN. But Banner is still there.

The rest of the crew are top notch; Robert Downey Jnr steals the show with his one liners; Chris Evans is far better as Cap than I ever thought he would be. TBH I thought that he was gonna be shite. I was proved wrong. And Thor is every bit as awesome as he was first time around. Black Widow and Hawkeye are okay. But I would like to see other Avengers in the next one.

And the post credit surprise? Well, spoiler alert here, but it looks like next time around, The Avengers will be knocking heads with......none other.......than THANOS!

That's quite a bold statement considering films like The Dark Knight or X-Men. I get paid today, so I may just go see it tonight and hopefully you're right. I honestly can't doubt your word as it is made by Whedon who is not only a fantastic writer/director, but also a HUGE Marvel fan, and it has been proven time and time again that decent fanatical directors don't fuck things up (except maybe Bryan Singer with Superman Returns).

Agree on Dark Knight, but Batman has the advantage of being more realistic than other superheroes and thus he's taken more seriously by film critics and casual moviegoers alike. Still, I'm as stoked for Dark Knight Rises as I am for Avengers.

As a whole, I consider the X-Men movies to be a disappointment. I liked the 90's cartoon a lot better. To me, X2 was the only one that came close to being as good as the cartoon. I don't hate any of the movies (okay maybe 3 a little bit), but I just think they could've been better (though I actually liked Origins: Wolverine more than most people).

As for the Marvel Studios films, I think my least favorite is the one everyone loves the most...the first Iron Man. I just found it fairly boring until the final fight w/Iron Monger and even that didn't last very long. I liked Iron Man 2 a lot better...same with Hulk, Thor, and Capt.America. Thor's probably the one I was most suspicious about...I was worried it'd be silly, but they did as good as job as they could've with such a far-out character (I mean...a Norse god who moonlights as a superhero? really?).

i never really like the climaxes of films, particularly sci-fi. the starts i enjoy the most, when they set the scene, explore the context.
