and I will be off this forum for about twelve days.

I will be at Boy Scout Camp (Camp Kern).....high in the Sierra's (above 7000 ft) hiking, training to be a better Scoutmaster, relaxing, getting my canoe certification and open water rescue certification. My troop will be having fun with their "Scout counselors" and I will be getting some serious rest.

This camp is in a very remote part of the Sierra's so there will be zero connectivity. Zero cell phones, and it will be a real camp experience. When I was a Boy Scout....waaaayyyyyy back and I was sent to "Boyhaven" (Milton, New York) and "Sunmount" (Keene, New York) in my region it was some of the happiest times of my teenage years.

My personal goals:

-I will be in a state of prayer when I am not training with other Scout Leaders. I plan to really focus on The Gospels of The Bible and take some serious notes on it. I plan to focus my following of Christ in this tranquil environment
-To become a better man and model to young boys
-Reflect on my own life thus far. Reflect on my mother. Grandpa. Loved ones already gone by. Times gone by and how the decades of my youth have blurred away
-Complete a workout routine for myself. I am in good shape, but I want to get "definition" to my body, and I'll have time up there to think about how to do it.

I will say when I am gone, I will miss you all and I hope I will have something "exciting" to report like a bear in the camp, or some silly prank the boys will probably pull on the Scout Leaders. Myabe "nothing" will happen, and I can live with that as well.

I'll miss you, too. :D May it be a rejuvenating experience for you.

I'm heading out on a family vacation next week up north, but only for a few days. If the bears don't get me, the otters will.

LS.com's gonna be so lonely.

I have very fond memories of my boy scout summer camp experiences too.

Raccoons were some real pests for us, as well as leaky old WWII army tents, but it sure was fun.

I'll bet you while be up in the scoutmasters lodge having a grand old time, gmartinfan.
