Pedestalizing or putting pussy on the pedestal is the act of placing women above oneself, as opposed to on a level, equal position. It can be used both to describe unnecessary elevation of a woman in one's mind, and male-defending-female behavior that a woman does not deserve. The two categories of pedestalization can overlap, with the same man exhibiting both.
As infatuation behavior
"Putting pussy on the pedestal" describes a tendency for men to elevate a woman they are infatuated with to a higher level than themselves. This irrational behavior creates many problems, including oneitis and a destroyed sense of attraction in the woman. Most women are not attracted to men who prostrate themselves, as it is not how their instincts are wired to respond.
Pedestalization need not be overt. It can happen subtly, and a man with little sexual experience very likely will be oblivious to his behavior. Simple pedestalization behaviors, like excessive gratitude, obedience, and apologizing, can go easily unnoticed but will be very noticeable by the woman who is the recipient of them. She will easily see that the man has little sexual experience, and is displaying signs of weakness. She may even believe that he is attempting to hide ulterior motives. This all ruins female sexual attraction.
As male-defending-female behavior
Pedestalization extends to female defense behavior. Men who view women as some greater entity will tend to defend them against male critics, despite the validity of the criticism in question. Male pedestalizers tend to be looked down upon with scorn by both men and women, though women will tend to be more discreet.
